Celebrating Bull City at 5th Annual Food and Beer Experience

Local restaurants and breweries offer taste of Durham

Required disclosure: I did not receive monetary compensation for this post, but I did receive free admission to the event with a little labor at the start of the event. All opinions are my own.

The 5th annual Bull City Food & Beer Experience this past Sunday at DPAC drew quite a crowd of local beer and food enthusiasts. Sponsored by Tyler's Restaurant and Taproom, Sam's Quik Shop, and Harris Beverages it featured 35 Durham restaurants and 35 breweries, most of them local to North Carolina.

McCrae and I arrived at the event early to work a bit - sorting t-shirts and organizing the entrance line - before we finished up work and melted into the crowd to snap photos of the event and enjoy the tastes of the city: mushroom risotto from Local 22, grilled cheese from American Meltdown, and more samples of delicious food and drink than one could possibly stomach in one afternoon (although we were up for the challenge!)

This was the second year we worked and attended the Bull City Food & Beer Experience, and it's one of my favorite events in the area. I'm already looking for to next year's event!

Have you been to the Bull City Food & Beer Experience, or to some of the local Durham breweries and restaurants? What's your favorite place for beer and food in Durham?
