Outdoor Photography and Adventure Blog
Hi! I'm Liz! If I sit still for too long I get restless. If I get too restless I'll eventually disappear into the wild. When I do that I always come back with a story and some photos.
I am a writer, photographer, musician, artist, hiker, runner, soccer player, whatever-inspires-me-that-day adventurer.
I am a member of the Oiselle Volée and am training for my fifth half marathon.
I live in Durham, NC. I like Durham. I always have. I like how hard knocks and old money rot next to each other on the same block, and how my generation is putting old bricks together into new configurations, building out of the past and into some utopian localvore pipe dream. I love the artistry of Durham, the awareness of its brightleaf history and its struggle to rebrand itself as a cultural hotbed.
I studied German literature, biology, and clarinet performance in college. Coffee and I have a long history together.
Any more questions? Feel free to ask me! Otherwise I'll see you out there in the wide world.
1) McCrae - my SO, my best friend, my partner-in-crime. He doesn't like to have his picture taken, but I sneak pictures of him anyways. Secret weapon: his courage, which I often rely on to psych myself up for something daring. Bonafide weakness: Me. Duh. And craft beer.
2) Ryder - spoiled pup. Special talents include giving you dirty looks if you're not sharing your Bojangles with him. Secret weapon: fuzzy cuddles in a tent on a mountain. Bonafide weakness: FOMO.
3) Dad - source of one of my X chromosomes. Co-conspirator of Sunday Stroll series. Secret weapon: surviving a "heart episode" (aka 99% blockage/1%-away-from-heart-attack incident). Bonafide weakness: Playing classical music.
